Sean Leonard, PMHNP

Sean Leonard is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Known for his sharp wit and a knack for using humor as a bridge to connect with his patients, Sean believes that a positive thought can sometimes be the best medicine. He received his master’s degree in adult geriatric primary care nurse practitioner from Walden University, followed by a post-master’s specialty in psychiatric mental health from Rocky Mountain University. Sean’s journey has taken him through a wide range of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient detox and rehab centers, psychiatric emergency services, and dual diagnosis programs, where his light-hearted approach and genuine care have brought relief to many.

With a focus on adult populations but training across the lifespan—from children and adolescents to geriatric patients—Sean’s expertise spans substance abuse, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and OCD. His offerings include medication management, crisis intervention, and psychotherapy, with particular experience in anxiety/OCD, depression, mood disorders, attention deficit disorders, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders.

A firm believer in the power of therapy, Sean often shares his philosophy: “Everyone can benefit from therapy, and many may find great value in medicine. Therapy is the cornerstone of my practice, medicine or not.” Sean’s approach combines his deep clinical knowledge with an easygoing style, making a meaningful impact in the lives of his patients—one dose of humor and care at a time.
