Justin Yasgoor is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #152306). Professional Clinical Counselor candidate (Number pending). He is supervised under Dr. DeAnna Crosby, (License Number: 127645).  Justin is a San Diego native. He brings a rich and diverse background to his work as a therapist, grounded in a lifelong passion for creativity, culture, and healing. At just 16 years old, he spent time living in a remote Aboriginal community in Australia, where he volunteered with the Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Centre, a cultural arts organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Indigenous knowledge. This early immersion in cross-cultural connection and artistic expression planted seeds that would later shape his clinical path.

Justin began his professional life in the creative arts, developing a deep expertise in woodworking and ultimately launching his own furniture fabrication business. While creativity served as a throughline in his life, he also navigated significant personal struggles—challenges that led him on an inner journey of self-discovery. He drew from global mythologies, meditation, and artistic practices to understand and explore the workings of his subconscious.

His healing journey inspired a deeper calling to support others. After entering recovery, Justin returned to school to complete his undergraduate and graduate studies in clinical and Jungian psychology. During his training, he found profound resonance with the theories of Carl Jung, particularly the view that psychological symptoms can reflect meaningful stages of growth and transformation rather than pathology alone. This perspective provided a new lens for his own experiences and continues to inform his therapeutic approach.

In his clinical work, Justin integrates creativity with depth-oriented psychotherapy. He takes a psychodynamic and Jungian-informed approach, exploring the symbolic language of the unconscious and the stories that shape our inner worlds. His practice is also spiritually inclusive, honoring ancient wisdom, multicultural traditions, and the full spectrum of human experience.

Outside the therapy room, Justin is an avid ocean swimmer, seasoned backpacker, second-degree black belt, and has been playing the didgeridoo for over 25 years.
