Outpatient Mental Health Treatment in San Diego
At ORCA Mental Health, we believe that recovery goes beyond simply getting better; it involves rediscovering your identity, building lasting connections, and creating a life filled with strength, balance, and meaning. Our men’s-only outpatient program is located in beautiful Oceanside, California, and was founded on a simple truth: men heal best in environments where they feel safe, supported, and understood.
Community is at the heart of our program. After hosting sober events that brought together men from various backgrounds, we recognized a significant need for a space where connection and recovery could flourish together. Encouraged by this community, ORCA Mental Health became a place where men can work on their mental health, overcome addiction, and grow alongside one another.
Finding the right program for your needs is essential.
- Our Program
A Program Designed for Men’s Mental Health
Our outpatient program includes both a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), designed to meet the unique needs of men facing mental health challenges and substance use recovery. While our primary focus is mental health, we understand that addiction and mental health often intersect. That’s why we offer integrated, co-occurring treatment that addresses the complete picture rather than focusing on just one aspect.
Our approach combines clinical excellence with practical recovery. Every man who comes through our doors is greeted with compassion, understanding, and a commitment to personalized care. We recognize that healing doesn’t occur in isolation, which is why we provide the structure, tools, and sense of brotherhood needed to help you rebuild your life.
What We Treat
Our licensed clinicians and experienced support team specialize in a wide range of mental health conditions, including:
- Depression and anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- PTSD and trauma-related conditions
- Personality disorders
- Co-occurring substance use disorders
When substance use is part of the equation, we work collaboratively to address both the underlying mental health issues and the patterns of addiction. Our evidence-based therapies and individualized plans ensure that every client receives care that respects their journey and meets them where they are.
Levels of Care
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a structured day-treatment setting for men who require intensive clinical support but do not need residential care. Participants attend treatment during the day and return to supportive housing or their homes in the evening. This level of care establishes a solid foundation for stability, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) serves as a step-down option for those who have progressed in the PHP or who need flexible support while reintegrating into daily life. IOP includes continued therapy, group sessions, and accountability, empowering men to apply the skills they have learned in treatment to their work, relationships, and recovery.
Both programs are based on evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and relapse prevention planning.
- About Our Program
Supportive Housing for a Strong Foundation
Healing requires consistency, structure, and a safe environment. That’s why ORCA Mental Health provides supportive housing for men participating in our programs. These homes offer stability and accountability while fostering camaraderie among residents. Clients share meals, attend meetings, and support one another as they practice sober living in a comfortable and respectful setting.
Our supportive housing gives men the opportunity to rebuild their routines and regain confidence in their daily lives. It’s not just about having a roof over their heads; it’s about belonging to a community of brothers who understand the challenges of recovery and are committed to walking the same path together.
Healing Through Connection and Adventure
At ORCA Mental Health, we understand that recovery goes beyond the confines of therapy rooms. True healing occurs when men reconnect with the world, rediscover joy, and experience life without the burden of addiction. That’s why our program emphasizes experiential activities and community engagement as essential components of the recovery journey.
Our clients regularly participate in activities such as:
- Beach days to enjoy the calming presence of the ocean
- Group hikes that challenge the body and clear the mind
- Gym sessions that help rebuild strength and confidence
- Community sober events, often in collaboration with other treatment centers
These experiences not only reinforce healthy habits and self-care but also foster camaraderie, resilience, and a sense of belonging. By connecting with others in recovery, our clients learn that sobriety can be vibrant, social, and deeply fulfilling.
- ORCA Mental Health
Community Roots and Connection
ORCA Mental Health was founded on the principles of community. Our founders began by organizing local sober events—simple gatherings aimed at celebrating connection and recovery. The response was overwhelming, as men from diverse backgrounds came together to share their stories, strength, and hope. These gatherings ignited the spark for something more significant: a treatment program where that same sense of brotherhood and purpose could thrive.
This spirit continues to influence everything we do. We believe that recovery is stronger when shared. From group therapy to outings with other treatment centers, every aspect of our program is designed to help men break free from isolation and rediscover the power of community.
